About
This website features research about faith communities in Canada engaging with environmental issues. Descriptions of the activities of all organizations and communities we have researched are provided in the Faith Communities section. We are also collecting literature by and about faith communities and organizations in Canada.

The Research Team
Primary Investigator
Dr. Joanne M. Moyer is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies and Geography at The King’s University in Edmonton, Alberta. Her broader research interests centre on the relationships between humans and their socio-ecological environments, the factors that influence these relationships, and how these relationships can be modified and transformed. She has spearheaded research exploring faith-based organizations and communities engaged in environmental work in Canada. She has also studied faith-based organizations doing environment and development work in Kenya, focusing on learning for sustainability in this context.
